Gobind Singh Deo is a prominent Malaysian lawyer and politician and is the current Member of Parliament representing Puchong. He is also the national legal bureau secretary of the Democratic Action Party. He is dubbed the “little lion of Puchong”.

Admitted to the Malaysian Bar in 1996, a year after returning from Lincoln's Inn, Gobind is more known for being the son and protege of Karpal Singh, the National Chairman of the Democratic Action Party. His brother, Jagdeep Singh Deo, is a state assemblyman for Datuk Keramat state seat in Penang.

Political career

In March 2009, Gobind was suspended from the Dewan Rakyat for calling Najib Razak a murderer.[1] The High Court upheld Gobind's suspension in a ruling made in October 2009, although he was given remuneration for his MP's pay, which was also previously suspended when the Speaker enforced the suspension order.[2]
